BunkAlert® is built for one job: making sure you do not sleep through a call while giving you a healthier, more controlled wakeup. It combines the red light from a VizAlert™ with a powerful vibration motor that shakes the bunk. You can dial the vibration up or down before you to go to bed so it matches how heavy you sleep.

Why BunkAlert Exists

Not everyone wakes up the same way. Some people jump at the slightest noise. Others can sleep through just about anything. Traditional station alerting does not care which one you are. It just blasts tones, kicks on the lights, and hopes for the best.

BunkAlert® exists to give you a better option. Instead of cranking the volume to wake the heaviest sleeper in the room, each bunk can have its own BunkAlert®. You get a visual red light cue plus a customizable bunk vibration that can be set to whatever level you need, so you do not miss calls and you avoid extra noise for everyone else.

If you’re a light sleeper who can wake up to just the VizAlert™ and/or a TacPod™, then you can turn the vibration motor off for the night. When your relief shift comes in then they can change it to their preferred setting.

How it Works

Each BunkAlert® is installed at the bunk. It includes a VizAlert™ for red lighting plus a separate vibration unit that mounts to the bed or bunk frame. The control dial lets you adjust how hard the haptic motor shakes the bed.

When the CCU activates a call for that room or crew, the VizAlert™ light comes on and the BunkAlert® vibration motor turns on. You get the combination of red light and a physical shake you can feel even if you are in deep sleep.

If you are a heavy sleeper, you turn the dial up. If you are easier to wake, you back it down or turn it off altogether. No matter what setting you have the haptic motor set to, the VizAlert™ will still shine a red LED to make sure no calls are missed. It is simple and completely under the firefighter’s control.

Can I turn mine down?
Yes. Each bunk can be adjusted independently, so you can match it to your own needs. You can even turn the bed shaker off and the red LEDs from the VizAlert™ will still come on to ensure you don’t miss a call.
