The Central Command Unit CCU is the heart of the EaseAlert® system. When a call comes in, the CCU sends a secure wireless signal that activates the EaseAlert® devices associated with the response unit assigned to the call. No complicated steps or process overhauls, just a purpose built firefighter alerting hub that you can count on.

Discover how EaseAlert can enhance your emergency response.
The Central Command Unit (CCU) is the heart of the EaseAlert® system. When a call comes in, the CCU sends a secure wireless signal that activates the EaseAlert® devices associated with the response unit assigned to the call. No complicated steps or process overhauls, just a purpose built firefighter alerting hub that you can count on.
The CCU is unlike traditional fire station alerting units with a wireless connection to all peripheral devices. It is designed specifically to bridge your alerting comms to TacPods™, VizAlerts™, BunkAlerts®, LED Strips, SafeTones™, and the rest of the EaseAlert® ecosystem. One CCU per station is all you need to bring EaseAlert® online.
It has multiple paths of alert for redundancy and ensured alerts delivered to the right responders. It can interface with any Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD), receive relay contact closures from any base radio, and has manual activation options for house watch alerts. Auto failover allows the CCU to switch between redundant alerting paths (Internet Protocol “IP” and Radio Frequency “RF”) for the highest level of reliability if internet connectivity is lost.
The CCU also features automated alerts via email and/or SMS when connectivity is lost/restored, 24/7/365 connection to secure database for monitoring and updates, custom dashboards for system health statuses and more.
Most stations are still running on a model where tones blast through speakers and everyone pays the price, even if the call is not theirs. It works, but it is loud, stressful, and it wakes people up who do not need to be awake. Over a career, that takes a toll.
The CCU exists to change the way we think about alerting. Instead of alerting an entire building, we alert the firefighter. It is the core device that lets you move from traditional “fire station alerting” to true “Firefighter Alerting.” That means fewer unnecessary wakeups, less chaos, and a smoother, healthier response for the people who actually need to go.
The CCU sits in the station, listening for activation signals from Dispatch. When a call is comes in, the CCU immediately sends an encrypted wireless signal throughout the station, instantly activating all EaseAlert® devices associated with the unit that is assigned to the call. No need to overhaul your dispatch center or train dispatchers on a new process.
The CCU can be activated several ways, depending on how you are set up:
Once triggered, the CCU sends out the signal that activates TacPods™, turns on VizAlerts™ and BunkAlerts®, lights up LED strips, and ramps up SafeTones™. Whether firefighters are sleeping, working out, walking through the station, or dealing with loud equipment, the alert gets to them.
The CCU is the central brain of the EaseAlert® ecosystem. Without it, nothing else activates. With it, your station can run true firefighter alerting:
The result is what we built EaseAlert for: no more heart-pounding wakeups, and a healthier, more efficient response.
How many CCUs do we need?
One CCU per station. If you have multiple buildings or a very large footprint, we can extend coverage with a smart mesh network as needed.
How does the CCU get triggered?
Through your base radio relay, CAD interface, the EA Activation Button, or the EA Dispatch Console. You choose what fits your operations.
Is it complicated to use?
No. Once it is installed and configured, crews do not have to think about it. It just listens, and sends alerts instantly.
Can it alert just a single crew within a multi-company fire station?
Yes, unit specific alerting can be configured so only the assigned company gets alerted instead of the whole house.
