Fernandina Beach Fire Department (FBFD), a career fire department in Northeast Florida, has signed a multi-year agreement to bring EaseAlert to its crewmembers. As the first personal Fire Fighter Alerting System (FFAS), EaseAlert delivers tactile alerts to wearables and low-impact visual alerts to red bedside lights (U.S. Patent 11,109,213).
EaseAlert is redefining emergency response by delivering healthier alerts directly to responders.
Fire Chief “Ty” Silcox has been at the helm of Fernandina Beach since August 2015. Chief Silcox, the Immediate Past-President of the Florida Fire Chiefs’ Association Board of Directors, is recognized throughout the state of Florida as a strong fire service leader.
As the first fire chief to purchase EaseAlert, Chief Silcox sets the pace for health & safety in the fire service.
“The health and well-being of our personnel is our top priority. It is important to look at ways to provide career longevity for our firefighters and emergency medical personnel. We want every one of our personnel to go home safe, and the mental stress each of our first responders is subjected to during their shift does not have to be exacerbated by extreme shocks to their sympathetic nervous system. We feel that the EaseAlert system will reduce the added stress and provide additional health and safety benefits to our personnel, thus providing a healthy and lengthy career in the best profession one could enter.”

Responders at FBFD have received more than 12,000 personal alerts from EaseAlert since February 2021. Here’s what they have to say about EaseAlert:
FBFD became the first fire department to join EaseAlert’s Early Adopter program in 2019. Since then, FBFD crew members and command staff have provided feedback and insight to help shape the EaseAlert system into the fully-developed system that it is today.
“We are grateful for the support Chief Silcox and the crew members at Fernandina Beach have provided EaseAlert to date. FBFD was our first Early Adopter and it’s fitting for Fernandina to be our first paid client.”
- Blake Richardson, EaseAlert co-founder & CEO
